Tennis Mixer raises funds for families in need

GREENVILLE, S.C.  (June 2, 2014) – Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas is pleased to announce it received over $1,400.00 from a fundraiser Brookstone Tennis Club, located in Anderson, S.C., held in support of the House.

“We had an excellent turnout of over 50 people for a great cause,” said Sophie Woorons-Johnston, owner of Brookstone Tennis. “Families and kids were able to play tennis, games and learn about the Ronald McDonald House and how they can get involved. It means so much to us that the Anderson community came out to support such a worthy charity.”

On Friday, May 16th, Brookstone Tennis Club held a tennis mixer with proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House in Greenville, S.C. The mixer provided attendees a chance to take an adult beginner or junior beginner class, play ping pong, corn hole, bacci ball and enjoy dinner and drinks. Attendees were even greeted by Ronald McDonald himself! All of the proceeds raised from participants went directly back to the Ronald McDonald House.

“Being able to partner with such amazing community supporters like Brookstone Tennis Club is what helps us provide for our families,” said Marti Spencer, CEO and Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House. “It is through donations like this we are able to provide a home away from home for our families to be near their child.”
