In the early 1980s, Frank A. Landgraff became inspired to bring a Ronald McDonald House to Greenville after witnessing a mother sleeping in a chair beside her sick child in Philadelphia. Frank, a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel and McDonald’s Owner/Operator, led the fundraising efforts and rallied the community behind a shared vision: keeping families close.
In 1989, Frank succeeded. He opened Greenville’s first Ronald McDonald House with 12 guest rooms and a simple but powerful mission: to provide comfort, hope, and a home away from home for families with hospitalized children.
For the next 36 years, Frank remained a dedicated champion of the House, helping guide its growth and impact. Today, the Frank A. Landgraff Memorial Campus has served more than 12,000 families, a testament to the compassion, leadership and legacy of its founder.
