Student Opportunities

Students across the Upstate can make a meaningful difference in the lives of families staying at RMHC. Whether you’re part of a school club, student organization, sports team, service group or youth group, there are plenty of ways to get involved and give back in a hands-on, impactful way.

Ways for Students to Get Involved

Host a Wish List Drive

Collect essential items our families need most. Past drives have collected pantry items, toys, stuffed animals and hygiene needs. Contact a member of our staff to confirm present needs and coordinate details. See our Wish List for more information on how to support our House.

Give to the House by participating in a small act with a big impact: collecting pop tabs. Every tab donated helps support our mission of keeping families close. Drop by the House during business hours to donate collected tabs.

Bring a group to the House to prepare and serve a comforting meal to families staying with us. You bring the ingredients and we provide all the cooking supplies in our fully-stocked kitchen. See the Guest Chef page for more information on how to get involved.

Visit our House and make homemade treats to bring smiles to our guests. You bring the ingredients and we provide all the cooking supplies in our fully-stocked kitchen. See the Cookies From The Heart page for more information on how to get involved.

Our Teen Leadership Board is composed of high school students with a passion for nonprofit work and volunteerism. They participate in special volunteer opportunities and professional development workshops. Applications for our next cohort will open Spring 2027. See the Teen Leadership Board page for more information on how to get involved.

Summer Service Summit is a nonprofit experience aimed to grow student volunteer and leadership skills. At this one-day-only event, students will learn more about RMHC, nonprofit operations and engage in exclusive volunteer opportunities. This event is open to students ages 12-16. See the Summer Service Summit page for more information on how to get involved.

If you are an education administrator and would like to plan a custom service day for your student group, please contact our team for more information.

All middle school groups must be accompanied by an adult.
