Small Tabs. Big Impact.

Pop tabs are one of the simplest and most meaningful ways our community supports Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas. While a single tab may seem insignificant, thousands collected together help provide comfort and care for families staying at the House while their child receives medical treatment.

Collecting pop tabs is an easy way for individuals, families, schools, businesses, and community groups to make a difference, one tab at a time.

Why Pop Tabs Matter

What might seem like trash becomes a valuable resource for families in need.

Collected aluminum pop tabs are recycled and exchanged for funds based on the current value of aluminum. Those funds support the House’s daily operations, helping cover essentials like utilities, supplies, and the services that allow us to keep our doors open for families during some of life’s most difficult moments.

It’s a simple act that turns everyday recycling into meaningful support.

How to Collect

Getting started is easy!

  • Remove aluminum pop tabs from soda, soup, energy drink, pet food, and other aluminum cans.
  • Store them in any clean container, such as a jar, coffee can, box, or reusable bottle.
  • Keep collecting until you’re ready to drop them off.

Please be sure your tabs are 100% aluminum. (If a magnet sticks to them, they’re not aluminum!)

We also accept whole aluminum cans. There’s no need to remove the tabs—simply bring the cans to us, and we’ll take care of the rest!

No need to count your tabs—we’ll weigh them when you arrive!
