Launching a Legacy: Celebrating the First-Ever Teen Leadership Board Scholarship Program
The Teen Leadership Board (TLB) Scholarship Program was created to not only celebrate the initiative and hard work of these young leaders but also to invest in their futures as they pursue higher education and continue their journey of making a difference in the world.
This year, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas proudly awarded scholarships to six exceptional members of the Teen Leadership Board, honoring their dedication, leadership, and passion for service. These remarkable students have gone above and beyond in their roles on the Teen Leadership Board, helping to support families, organize events, raise awareness, and model what it truly means to lead with heart.
Congratulations to our six recipients:
Annabell Williams
High School: Greenville High School • TLB Role: Marketing Co-Chair
Annabell plans to attend the University of Florida to study Public Health. As Marketing Co-Chair, she brought creativity and passion to spreading awareness of the House’s mission throughout the community.
Chloe Nickles
High School: First Presbyterian Academy • TLB Role: Secretary
Chloe will study International Business and Computer Science at either Clemson Honors College or The College of William and Mary. As Secretary,
she was a reliable, organized leader whose strong communication helped keep the Board connected and on track.
Berit Galloway
High School: Greer Middle College Charter School • TLB Role: Membership Co-Chair
Berit is attending the University of South Carolina to double major in Psychology and Public Health. As Membership Chair, she played a key role in building community within the Board and helping new members thrive.
Kate Kitchens
High School: Greenville High School • TLB Role: President
Kate will study Public Relations at the University of Georgia’s School of Journalism and Mass Communications. As President, she led the Board with confidence, vision, and
a deep commitment to service.
Katie Hoffman
High School: Greenville High School • TLB Role: Marketing Co-Chair
Katie is heading to Auburn University to study Nursing. As Marketing Co-Chair, she built meaningful bonds with the families staying at the House
and used their stories to highlight the heart of the mission with empathy and care.
Frederic Smith
High School: Greenville High School • TLB Role: Fundraising & Development Co-Chair
Frederic plans to study International Business or Chemical Engineering at Georgia Tech or the University of South Carolina. As Fundraising & Development Chair, he was a strategic thinker who helped strengthen support for the House through impactful initiatives.
We are proud to support our youth as they take their next steps and continue to lead with purpose. As recipients of these scholarships, the House hopes that these members will be encouraged to apply the skills they have learned while on the TLB and continue making a positive impact in their communities.
